How do you fancy a days motorsport for £20? Then why not come and join Middlesex County AC at Bovingdon airfield in Hertfordshire for a day of Sideways Autosolo on Sunday 14th August. For those that dont know what an Autosolo is,its a cross between drifting and an autotest navigating between a course of cones at speed against the clock with penalties for clipping cones or wrong route all in a forward direction so no reversing. You can compete in any car so need for racesuits/helmets/rollcages. After memorising the route you compete against the clock,so as sideways as you like. The only stipulations is that the car should be capable of being driven to the airfield and/or passing an MOT which means no slicks/wets/inters etc and you need to join Middlesex County AC or associated car clubs. Its great fun, non damaging (apart from some tyre wear) and an ideal first step on the motorsport ladder or shakedown for a rally car. Where else can you blast up and down an airfield for £20?
