PENDLE District Motor Club is holding a charity motorsport evening on Friday, February 4.
And the list of guest speakers is filled with well-known rallying names:
*Daniel Harper – two-times winner on Mull, and the fastest driver of a Mini WRC.
*John Stone - leading tarmac rally driver and currently piloting a Volkswagen Polo R5, he will be joined by his son Alex, who co-drives for his dad.
*Neil Roskell - winner of the 2021 Tour of Epynt and third overall in the 2021 Protyre Asphalt Championship.
*Mark Kelly – 2021 MN Championship driver and winner of the 2021 Lee Holland Stages, joined by his co-driver Neil Colman.
*Gordon Birtwistle – internationally-renowned suspension expert who has sat alongside more world champion rally drivers than anyone can remember.
Compere for the night is the inimitable Ian Grindrod, co-driver to Jimmy McRae, Henri Toivonen, Roger Clark and Tony Pond, to name but a few.
Admission is strictly by ticket only at £20 per head, which includes supper. All proceeds will go to the charities nominated by the guest speakers on the night. There will also be a raffle and a motorsport auction
“It promises to be a great night with some brilliant speakers, but with places limited to 70, we’re expecting to sell out quickly,” explained club chairman Rod Brereton.
*Pendle DMC charity motorsport evening is at the Old Stone Trough, Colne Road, Kelbrook,BB18 6XY, 7-30pm for 8pm start. There is a discount on venue rooms for anyone wishing to stop overnight.
