The Manx Auto Sport promoted Manx National Rally celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2015 and with that the organisers have also managed to secure a new title sponsor. IMGold, a local and international bullion trading company, has come on board to help support this very popular Manx event. With their valued involvement, it has enabled this popular and extremely active Rally Club to move forward with their events.
This year’s event will be spread over two compact days. Friday will see scrutineering during the day and crews will also have the opportunity to use the shakedown stage in the afternoon. The first stage will start just after 18.00 with a further 4 stages being run with the last 2 being run in darkness. Saturday will see the first cars leave Douglas just after 9 am with a further 7 stages giving a total stage mileage of 125 (200km) (approx).
The Isle of Man has been a centre point for Rallying for many years and has gone on to produce some worthy drivers. The great and the good in our sport have travelled to tackle the extremely fast and, sometimes, bumpy roads. It was noted some time ago by Paul Bird that "you’re not a proper rally driver until you have won a rally on the Isle of Man" and there aren't many who would argue that sentiment.
For this year’s event Manx Auto Sport have worked tirelessly with Isle of Man Event Services and the Isle of Man Steam Packet to have a dedicated SeaCat service for this event - and we now have that.
The Isle of Man Steam Packet has agreed to a dedicated sailing from Belfast. The SeaCat leaves at 10.45am on Wednesday 6th May, arriving in Douglas just after 1.30pm, giving crews time to do some evening recce. The return sailing leaves Douglas at 07.00 on Sunday 10th arriving in Belfast before 10am.
In addition we also have 3 sailings on the Wednesday and 4 sailings on the Thursday and Friday from Liverpool and Heysham (nr Lancaster).
Special Travel and entry packages have also been agreed - Van, trailer, 2 passengers and entry to the IMGold Manx National for £810.
Spectator packages including sea travel with a car and 2 nights’ accommodation from £175.00 per person.
