15 junior competitors attended Sweet Lamb on Saturday 6th April for the first of a series of three specialist rally training days, run by the Pirelli Welsh National Rally Championship.

Organised with the championship's official preferred route note provider 'OnThePaceNoteUK', the day including a series of training workshops and practical tuition for drivers and co-drivers of all ages up to 25.

The day commenced with a talk on the importance of social media and how to use it professionally, delivered by Tobi Riemann of Ravenol Oils - a long standing championship partner.

Next, WRC2 Pro lead driver for M-Sport, Gus Greensmith joined Rally4Wales MD Jamie Edwards for a frank, honest and revealing Q&A session where he pulled no punches in describing his career to date, going from karting at world level alongside the likes of Charles Leclerc through to J1000 and WRC events. Gus gave great and honest insight into the pressures and skills needed to be competitive at WRC level, including both the mental and pace note skills he's developed.

After lunch, the drivers worked with top Welsh rally driver Osian Pryce for 1-2-1 tuition and coaching on the famous 'one mile loop' at Sweet Lamb. The co-drivers attending worked on practical skills and skills development with former WRC co-driver and British Rally Champion Craig Parry.

Next up is a session on Sunday 19th May at the Forest Experience Rally School venue near Carno. A new set of speakers, new practical challenges and more coaching will be available for drivers and co-drivers.

The sessions are open to any juniors - especially J1000 competitors who may be looking to move up to multi venue rallying from the age of 17 onwards (or for younger co-drivers of course).
